Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan. It’s color palette spans the widest spectrum. It is dotted with forts, museums, and artisans of every hue and color.
The biggest fort of all is the Aamer Palace with its magnificent architecture and well thought planned layout. It was built by Raja Maan singh.
In the old city this vast palace was for the numerous queens of the Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh of Jaipur. When the Maharaja’s procession used to walk down the street, then each of its queen used to watch him through the 953 windows of this 5 story structure.

Sanganer which is south of Jaipur is host to a lot of artists, textile printing and handmade paper industry. It’s primarily rural area, you can walk arounds it small bylines and workshops and see industrious people honing their skills.
The oldest known city in India. It is believed to be created by Lord Brahma, who is the creator of the universe. The centre of attraction is the lake pucker and temples surrounding it and the only one temple of Brahma. A morning stroll around the ghats would bring you face to face with the devotees who are thronging the temples or taking a holy dip. You also get approached by pandits who are eager to do various ceremonies for the afterlife of your departed ear ones. Pushkar is also know for its annual cattle fair in the fall, however I missed it by a few weeks.
Jaisalmer is called the golden city, it is in the middle of Thar desert on the west of Rajasthan. The town stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. The fort is called the living fort since it is still occupied by the merchants and artisans.
